Occupational therapists employ evidence-based, holistic methods to help people of all ages develop, recover, or maintain daily living skills, optimizing function for a fulfilling life.
EIM's hybrid accelerated program model enables OTD learners to graduate in just two years, significantly faster than traditional pathways.
*The data presented on this page is sourced from Lightcast, accessed [03 05 2024], which utilizes information from the Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS) Quarterly Consensus of Employment and Wages (QCEW).
Employment of occupational therapists is projected to grow 18 percent from 2023 to 2033, much faster than the average for all occupations. *
About 10,800 openings for occupational therapists are projected each year, on average, over the decade. *
Many of those openings are expected to result from the need to replace workers who transfer to different occupations or exit the labor force, such as to retire.
The median annual wage for occupational therapists is $93,184. * Currently, occupational therapists can enter the workforce with either an MOT or OTD.
EIM powered the first hybrid accelerated OTD program in the country, and this model has successfully achieved full accreditation and graduated multiple cohorts of well-prepared occupational therapists in less time.
The OTD program is a two-year hybrid accelerated program that develops leaders in occupational therapy. The OTD program combines online learning, hands-on lab immersions, fieldwork experiences and a doctoral capstone. For less time than most traditional Master of Occupational Therapy (MOT) programs, entry-level graduates of our OTD program enter the workforce sooner with a doctoral degree.
