Evidence In Motion was founded by academics in the health care education space to expand evidence-based practice and increase access to communities around the country. We innovated the way health care education is delivered through highly successful hybrid, accelerated graduate programs.

And we’re not done yet. In the next five years we plan to launch more than 30 programs around the country, including expansions for our current partners into new campuses and disciplines. Our experience and expertise help colleges and universities realize programs that contribute to their long-term vision and success for years to come. Kristi Henderson
CEO, Confluent Health
Kristi Henderson, DNP, is a healthcare visionary and digital transformation leader with a passion for improving patient outcomes and healthcare access through innovation. Her journey from a bedside nurse practitioner to CEO has been marked by a tireless dedication to enhancing the healthcare experience for patients and clinicians.
Henderson has spent 30 years in the healthcare industry, leading digital health transformation at academic medical centers, non-profit national health systems, big tech companies, and payer/provider organizations. Her innovative leadership has resulted in groundbreaking advancements in digital health, creation of new tech-enabled clinical models of care with improved health outcomes, and improvements in patient access to care. and overall experience.
As the former CEO of Optum Everycare, Henderson led a national care delivery organization with virtual and in-person care options that were provided through community clinics, employer worksite clinics, and a national virtual health clinic. Under her leadership, the organization improved patient access to care and delivered exceptional patient experiences.
Henderson also led Clinical Operations for Amazon Care, where she played a pivotal role in the development and expansion of the company’s innovative telehealth and home care program. She also led a national center for patient access, virtual care, and care coordination for Ascension Health, where she developed and implemented innovative models of care delivery.
As the Board Chair for the American Telemedicine Association, Henderson has been a vocal advocate for telehealth expansion and its potential to improve healthcare access and delivery for all. She is also an affiliate faculty member at Dell Medical School at the University of Texas-Austin and the University of Washington School of Nursing.
Throughout her career, Henderson has remained committed to her mission of enhancing the healthcare experience for patients and providers. She has a demonstrated track record of success in developing and implementing innovative strategies that improve patient outcomes, streamline care delivery, and create exceptional patient experiences.
Henderson is passionate about driving innovative solutions to redesign how people and clinicians experience the healthcare delivery system. She is confident that these new approaches deliver better outcomes, better quality of life, lower costs, and a work environment that will empower our clinical teams and bring joy back to the workplace. She will inspire and challenge the next generation of clinicians to rethink traditional healthcare delivery models and embrace innovation as a critical driver of improved outcomes and exceptional patient experiences.

Michael Walker
As the Chief Academic Officer for Evidence in Motion, Dr. Walker works with University Partners across the country to facilitate collaboration and excellence in accelerated, hybrid, graduate education. Since 2013, Dr. Walker has been a leading innovator in DPT education with the development, implementation, and accreditation of this curriculum model at two institutions. He served as the founding Dean for the South College School of Physical Therapy beginning in 2014 and Program Director and Clinical Professor for the Baylor University Doctor of Physical Therapy Program in 2017. Additionally, he is a past Vice President of Operations for Evidence in Motion, Deputy Director for the US Army-Baylor University Doctoral Program in Physical Therapy, and Director of the US Army Physical Therapy Technician program.
Dr. Walker is a graduate of Baylor University where he earned his Master’s of Physical Therapy in 1995 and a Doctor of Science in Orthopaedic & Manual Physical Therapy in 2002. He is board certified as an Orthopaedic Clinical Specialist and a Fellow in the American Academy of Orthopaedic and Manual Physical Therapists. Dr. Walker has held a number of faculty appointments in his career with Baylor University, South College, Rocky Mountain University of Health Professions, and Evidence In Motion. He has authored or co-authored a number of peer-reviewed professional works and was awarded the 2010 Rose Excellence in Research Award from the Orthopedic Section of the American Physical Therapy Association. Currently, he is a licensed physical therapist in the state of Texas and maintains active memberships in a number of professional organizations.
Raluca Holt
Raluca Holt serves as Vice President of marketing. In her role, she leads the strategy, execution, and delivery of university marketing services across EIM’s partner ecosystem.
Raluca is a high-energy marketer with 19+ years of global business experience. She earned her Bachelor’s Degree in Journalism & Public Relations and holds a Master’s in Business Communication.
Prior to joining EIM in 2018, Raluca spent her career in diverse settings and industries – from nonprofit advancement work, to managing marketing and sales enablement in a professional services corporation, and building the brands of four international manufacturing companies. Raluca has proven tenure with both corporate marketing and agency team models and she prides herself in being able to bring together talent and capabilities that create holistic, growth-focused, and engaged teams. She is extremely passionate about building brand value at scale through storytelling, digital transformation, and integrated content and communications.
What she loves most about working at EIM is the opportunity to put her passion for great marketing in service to the impactful mission of health care programs and partnerships transforming the future of higher education.
Taylor Skloss
Before being promoted to the senior leadership team in December of 2020, Taylor joined EIM to help strengthen and scale the services provided to our university partners. With a focus on the end-to-end management of EIM’s university admissions and student placement efforts, she is also a key player in the development of new value added functions and key roles that help optimize how we deliver value to our partners today and into the future.
Prior to joining EIM, Taylor spent 10 years managing and deploying growth strategies though sales and operational leadership functions at enterprise companies across the United States. As a believer in the player-coach style of leadership, she also directly oversaw sales and service for distributed teams in North America responsible for customer acquisition, client relations and process and performance management.
Taylor earned her degree/education from Texas A&M University – Mays Business School with a Bachelors of Business Administration (BBA). She lives in San Antonio, Texas with her husband and small children who keep her on her toes at home!
April Briggs
April Briggs serves as Director of Strategic Partnerships leading EIM’s Sales and Pipeline operations across the University Partnership business. She works closely with university leadership to deepen existing portfolios and exploring new growth opportunities.
April brings 15 years of experience working at the intersection of healthcare, Ed Tech, and Higher Education sales and development to extend access, elevate quality, and drive scale. She has been working in the Ed Tech space for over 7 years to develop, launch, and scale strategic hybrid offerings based on institutional objectives and market demand.
During her time at EIM, she has led the efforts to develop and implement accelerated, hybrid graduate healthcare programs that are the first of their kind in the United States.
April has a Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology from Texas A&M University and a Master’s Degree in Clinical Counseling from Texas State University. She enjoys spending time with her two young kids and mildly obsessing over her “Where to Eat” restaurant journal.
Kurt Hubbard
Dr. Kurt K. Hubbard is currently the Occupational Therapy Academic Officer for Evidence in Motion. Previously, Dr. Hubbard had held academic positions including Executive Director, Dean of Academic Affairs, Department Chair, Program Director, and Professor at multiple institutions of higher learning. Outside of academia, Dr. Hubbard has directed and owned many hospital and community-based businesses with a focus on facilitating clients to achieve optimal functioning in occupational therapy specializing in psychosocial and neurorehabilitation. Dr. Hubbard has been very active locally in the Florida Occupational Therapy Association (FOTA), where he served as FOTA President and Chief Executive Officer. In addition, he has been active nationally in the American Occupational Therapy Association (AOTA), being recognized for his significant contribution to continuing education and professional development in the OT profession by being appointed to the AOTA Roster of Fellows as well as being inducted into the prestigious OT Leaders and Legacies Society. He continues to emphasize scholarship in his work as an educator and frequently shares his research at a variety of local, national, and international conferences as well as in peer reviewed periodicals.
Mark Payne
Mark Payne serves as the PA Academic Officer with Evidence In Motion. In this role he provides consultation, guidance and leadership to university partners as well as internal teams at EIM regarding specifics and nuances of PA education and program development in the hybrid space. Mark has been a PA for 35 years and has practiced clinically in emergency medicine and primary care. He has been a founding PA Program Director and possesses years of experience as a clinical and classroom educator. He has earned 3 distinguished faculty awards and recognition as a clinician from various organizations. Mark has also served for 20 years on the National Disaster Medical Assistance Team Florida 6 and has deployed to multiple natural disasters over the years. In his spare time, Mark enjoys motorcycle riding, camping and, vintage VW restoration and shows.
Melissa Randazzo
Dr. Melissa Randazzo is a speech language pathologist, cognitive neuroscientist, and education innovator. After working in world renown neuroimaging labs using functional magnetic resonance imaging and electroencephalography, Dr. Randazzo applied her training in neuroscience to the science of teaching and learning. As director of her own research lab, Dr. Randazzo created the first and only hands-on neuroimaging course for speech language pathologists. Dr. Randazzo’s area of clinical expertise is bilingualism and pediatric speech sound disorders, and she has been recognized for advanced training and expertise in Childhood Apraxia of Speech. She served as clinic director for Teachers College, Columbia University’s global practice program in Cambodia, and continues to volunteer in global contexts as a consultant for Imprint Hope Uganda. Dr. Randazzo is a founding trustee of WHIN Music Community Charter School in NYC, which provides equitable access to fine arts education.
Prior to joining EIM, Dr. Randazzo served as associate professor, coordinator for a hybrid MS in Speech Language Pathology program, and as a faculty facilitator for a certification program in online teaching. Dr. Randazzo continues to publish peer-reviewed research in neuroimaging and scholarship of teaching and learning. She is thrilled to bring her passion for online education in speech language hearing sciences to EIM.
Angela Felker MacCabe
Dr. Angela Felker MacCabe is currently the Physical Therapy Academic Officer for Evidence in Motion. Previously, Dr. MacCabe has held academic positions including Director of Curriculum, Associate Professor, Core and Adjunct Faculty at multiple institutions of higher learning. Dr. MacCabe has been the course director for a variety of courses within DPT education including Cardiopulmonary Physical Therapy, Complex Patient, Health Promotions and Fitness Management, Evidence Based Practice, and Neuromuscular Practice. She has received awards for teaching excellence and is fully immersed in the hybrid learning academic space. As a physical therapist her 36 years in clinical practice have been in the acute care, home health, neurorehabilitation, and outpatient orthopedics. She is passionate about optimizing the learning experience for students and has presented nationally on scholarship of teaching and learning. She is frequently invited to speak on simulation in DPT education and faculty development. She continues to emphasize scholarship in her work as an educator and frequently shares her research at a variety of local, national, and international conferences as well as in peer reviewed periodicals. When not at work you can find her on the Pend Orielle River in the beautiful Northwest paddleboarding, kayaking, and boating or hiking in the surrounding mountains with her dog Reyka.
Larry Benz
Dr. Larry Benz, DPT, OCS, MBA, MAPP, is the Executive Chairman at Confluent Health. He is nationally recognized for his expertise in private practice physical therapy and occupational medicine.
Dr. Benz’s interests include conducting research and integrating empathy, compassion, and positive psychology interventions within physical therapy. His book, Called to Care: Bringing Humanity Back to Healthcare, highlights this research and was on the Amazon best seller list in 2020. With over 175 invited presentations to PT programs, national conferences, and MBA programs throughout the country, Dr. Benz has been on APTA’s Advisory Panel on Practice and the Board of the American Board of Physical Therapy Specialties and is a former Trustee and Chairman with the University of Louisville. He has also served as a Trustee with the Foundation for Physical Therapy.
He is the recipient of numerous business and physical therapy awards, including the Kentucky Physical Therapy’s Outstanding Physical Therapists Award and Ernst & Young’s “Entrepreneur of the Year” for his region. He is the co-developer of physicaltherapist.com and blog.evidenceinmotion.com, a blog devoted to the principles of EBP in physical therapy. His Foundation is the co-developer of Jacmel Rehabilitation in Haiti which can be found at PThelpforHaiti.org.
David Jones Jr.
David is founder and managing director of Chrysalis Ventures, a leading provider of early and growth stage equity in middle America, where he currently focuses on the potential of digital and business model innovation to transform healthcare, education and human capital management. Since 1993 David has served as a director of Humana Inc., including chairing the company’s board from 2005 – 2010.
At Chrysalis, David has worked over the years with some of the most exciting growth companies in the Midwest and South, including Appriss (sold to Bain Capital), Advanced Academics (sold to Devry), Tritel (merged with Telecorp and sold to AT&T Wireless), Regent Communications (sold to Jacor Communications which was sold to Clear Channel Communications), ActaMed (merged with Healtheon and then with WebMD), Tech Republic (sold to Gartner Group), High Speed Access Corp (IPO and later sold to Charter Communications) and HCCA International (sold to Windrose and rebranded Shearwater Health).
David brings a strong and well-rounded background in business, law and banking to his work at Chrysalis Ventures. Prior to Chrysalis, David’s law practice included both domestic and international work, the latter with the U.S. Department of State general counsel’s office in Washington (1988-1992). Before law school, he worked as a commercial banker for Bank of Boston in Hong Kong, New York and Boston, and taught English at a Chinese medical university (1980-82).
David has a BA from Yale University and a JD from Yale University Law School. He currently serves as adjunct professor of innovation at Bellarmine University, and lectures frequently in Chrysalis’ region on topics related to venture capital, the changing healthcare industry, and innovation in public education.
David is active in civic and charitable affairs on both national and local levels. He served on term as an elected member of the Jefferson County (Louisville) Board of Education (2013-2016), including two years as chair. An active philanthropist, David also serves as a director of the Humana Foundation and of an independent private foundation.
John Danaher
John Danaher, MD, MBA, is President of Medical at Adtalem Global Education and a member of EIM board of directors. He is a prominent healthcare expert, educator, entrepreneur, and respected physician. John brings more than 20 years of leadership experience to his role, where he designs and implements innovative strategies to transform underperforming businesses and drive revenue growth. John motivates talent to collaborate, innovate and perform at their best by aligning them around a shared vision. He has reorganized operations to be more efficient while simultaneously identifying opportunities to bring together content and state of the art technology to unlock insights that improve healthcare delivery.
John has held leadership roles at several notable organizations and has global experience in both the government and private sector. He has served on many corporate and non-profit boards and has held teaching faculties and fellowships, including one in the White House.
John received his MD from Dartmouth Medical School and is Board Certified in Internal Medicine. He received his MBA from Stanford Graduate School of Business.
