Wilson College announced the launch of their first ever Doctor of Physical Therapy program. The inaugural cohort classes are set to begin August 23, 2027. The program will function in a hybrid, accelerated model – developed and delivered in partnership with Evidence in Motion.

This DPT launch follows Wilson’s recent news of its graduate healthcare program expansion, and the grand opening of their King of Prussia, Pennsylvania campus which features a state-of-the-art clinical simulation facility where DPT students will complete their lab immersions.

Students Grow Through Hybrid Learning

In the DPT hybrid model, students will complete 60% of their coursework online, 30% across fieldwork rotations and a capstone experience, and 10% on campus applying their learnings in lab immersions.

This 60/30/10 hybrid approach blends academic instruction with hands-on clinical practice and student-professor collaboration. It follows a trusted “study it, see it, do it” learning model that has long shown to be effective.

Program Follows an Accelerated Model

The DPT program at Wilson College can be completed in just two years, enabling graduates to enter the workforce earlier. This accelerated model prioritizes the strong foundational knowledge and practical skills future clinicians need to make a difference in the lives of their patients and the community at large.

Courses will be taught in synchronous (live sessions) and asynchronous (independent study) formats to maximize student learning. Throughout the entire DPT program, students will learn from expert practitioners, with substantial experience in their field, who are dedicated to student success.

Wilson’s DPT Seeks Accreditation

Wilson College is seeking accreditation of a new physical therapist education program from CAPTE. The program is planning to submit an Application for Candidacy, which is the formal application required in the pre-accreditation stage, on November 1st, 2026. Submission of this document does not ensure that the program will be granted Candidate for Accreditation status. Achievement of Candidate for Accreditation status is required prior to implementation of the professional phase of the program; therefore, no students may be enrolled in professional courses until Candidate for Accreditation status has been achieved. Further, though achievement of Candidate for Accreditation status signifies satisfactory progress toward accreditation, it does not assure that the program will be granted accreditation.
