Wilson College has announced a Master of Science in Speech-Language Pathology program, with its inaugural cohort set to begin in August 2027. Applications open in July as the college expands its graduate healthcare offerings.
Evidence In Motion is partnering with Wilson College to support the program's design and delivery. The collaboration reflects a shared commitment to increasing access to speech-language pathology education and addressing workforce shortages across the field.
Accelerated Format Designed for Speed and Accessibility
Wilson's MS-SLP program is designed for completion in 16 months, significantly shorter than the traditional two-year timeline. The accelerated structure allows students to enter the workforce sooner while potentially reducing the cost of their education.
The program combines online coursework with live, interactive instruction, simulation-based learning and clinical preparation to ensure students develop both academic foundations and applied skills for professional practice.
Hybrid Model Expands Reach Beyond Campus
The hybrid format allows students to complete most coursework remotely while remaining in their home communities, an advantage for working adults and those in rural or underserved areas with limited access to graduate-level SLP programs.
Students will attend two required on-campus residencies in the Philadelphia metropolitan area, focusing on hands-on skill development and faculty-guided training. These experiences complement clinical placements completed in students' local regions and secured by the program.
Supporting Diverse Pathways Into the Profession
Wilson College also offers online leveling and prerequisite coursework for students without undergraduate degrees in speech-language pathology or communication sciences and disorders.
The courses prepare students for graduate study while opening pathways for those from varied academic and professional backgrounds.
Leadership and Program Vision
The program will be led by Diana Julbe-Delgado, Ph.D., CCC-SLP, CBIS, associate professor and program director. With extensive experience in SLP education, she will guide a curriculum integrating academic instruction, simulation-based training and clinical preparation.
Addressing a Growing Workforce Demand
The launch comes amid significant national demand for speech-language pathologists. The U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics projects roughly 13,300 job openings annually, with a 15% growth rate through 2034, much faster than the average for all occupations.
Wilson's MS-SLP program aims to prepare graduates with the clinical skills and readiness required for today's healthcare and educational settings.
Accreditation and Next Steps
The program is currently an Applicant for Candidacy with the Council on Academic Accreditation in Audiology and Speech-Language Pathology of the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association.
Wilson College will proceed with enrollment upon achieving the necessary accreditation milestones.
